Mitarte Madurado Tercera Hoja Rioja (Case of 12)

12 x Mitarte Tercera Hoja Tinto Madurado from Rioja DO is a slightly oaked dry red from Rioja Alavesa winemaker Ignacio Gil of Bodegas Mitarte. This 100% tempranillo wine has been aged in new and old oak for four months to soft the juice from the grips of chewy tannins to produce a round, velvety, structured red with plenty of character. High in the foothills of the Cantabrian Sierra mountains on the northern edge of Rioja sits the Mitarte winery. The climate is Atlantic with protection from severe rain, allowing vines to ripen slowly through September. The mid-palate is full of toasted vanilla, ripe red fruit, wild plums, hints of clove and the beginnings of leather aromas. Alcohol is 13%.
