Bread Sticks 'El Pico Don Pelayo', David de Castro

The history of this type of food dates back over 10.000 years when it was discovered that submitting cereal grains to excessive heat resulted in food with low water content. This food was very appropiate for storage and long trips. The first foods made in this way were called crackers. It was a kind of flat bread that could be preserved for a long time. It began to be distributed between ship crews and groups of soldiers. The Regaña is typical of Western Andalucia.
